Gamma Team
Emily Fabiano, a policy advisor turned consultant, built a course to help mission-driven teams effectively position themselves to policymakers.
She created the entire course in Gamma—designing 120+ dynamic slides with illustrations, callouts, and interactive elements to simplify complex concepts.
Built solo in just six weeks, the course now serves as both a lead generator and scalable product—showing how consultants can turn expertise into digital assets with Gamma.
Meet Emily Fabiano, founder of Workmorphis, a consultancy helping government, industry, and nonprofit leaders collaborate to build workforce development programs.
After years advising two Ohio governors and directing $130M in state funding for workforce initiatives, Emily launched her firm to guide clients through the complex process of aligning state-level policy with industry needs.
But recently, Emily noticed a recurring request from clients: How do we effectively communicate our mission to policymakers? With more budget decisions shifting to state governments and federal funding shrinking, this skill is more vital than ever for mission-driven organizations.
So Emily did something she’d never done before: she built a course to help smaller teams position to policymakers with confidence and clarity.
And she built it with Gamma.
Emily’s new program, “Positioning to Policymakers,” was created to democratize a niche but crucial skill: pitching to policymakers with impact. Her goal was to package the strategic advice she gives consulting clients into a self-paced, accessible course—especially for nonprofits and GovTech startups who may not be able to afford full-service engagements.
But designing an online course that feels polished, professional, and compelling—without hiring a designer—is no easy feat.
There’s nothing more frustrating to me than moving boxes around in PowerPoint. I don’t have a designer’s mind—I focus on how to communicate effectively. Gamma was the perfect fit.
Emily Fabiano
Instead of defaulting to Google Slides, Emily created over 120 Gamma cards—modular, dynamic slides that she recorded with screen share videos using Descript. Hosted on Podia, her course includes five modules, each built around a Gamma deck designed to guide learners through case studies, exercises, and frameworks.
Building a course on state budgets and public policy might sound... dry. But Emily used Gamma’s features to bring clarity and energy to complex material:
Spotlight mode to control the learner’s focus during voiceover videos.
AI-generated and pictographic illustrations to visualize concepts.
Side-by-side before/after coaching examples to contrast ineffective “feature-heavy” language with outcome-oriented messaging.
Callouts and implementation flags that connect learning content directly to downloadable guides and exercises.
This is probably in the top 10%—if not better—when it comes to content design in the public policy space. Most resources are dense and read like a textbook. I wanted ours to be different.
Emily Fabiano
She even wove in subtle humor—like an AI image of an oversized cart full of paper to illustrate how ridiculous state budgets can be.
Emily’s workflow combined a few tools, but Gamma was the creative hub:
Brainstorming and outlining: Started in Notion and Obsidian
Slide creation and scripting: Built directly in Gamma, card by card
Voiceover recording: Used Descript, referencing Gamma’s slide notes
Course hosting: Podia, where videos, downloads, and links live
“Gamma saved me hours,” she says. “And honestly, made the whole experience fun.”
Emily built this course in just six weeks—solo. For comparison, corporate teams often spend months creating similar content.
Her goal wasn’t just to share knowledge—it was to open access and help others build capacity and confidence. Many mission-driven leaders don't have the budget for ongoing consulting, but they still need the same tools and insights. As federal funding decreases and economic uncertainty pressures consulting budgets, many experts are looking to productize their IP.
For Emily, the course is a sustainable way to share her consulting expertise more broadly—serving as both a lead generator and a standalone offering for teams that need support now.
I’ve always wanted to bring this knowledge to more people. And now, with Gamma, I can.
Emily Fabiano
Emily's just getting started. She sees this course as a tool for building capacity and confidence inside mission-driven teams—and she's working to expand its reach. Emily plans to promote the course more broadly in the coming months, starting with LinkedIn carousels (also designed in Gamma). She’s also iterating on her landing page and exploring partnerships to expand the content’s reach.
For Gamma users—and especially consultants—Emily’s story is a masterclass in turning lived experience into digital assets. Not only does her course meet a real market need, but it also demonstrates how flexible Gamma is as a course design engine, not just a presentation tool.
Whether you’re building for clients, classrooms, or coalitions, Gamma helps you get your ideas into the world—beautifully.
