Five years ago, James Fox, Jon Noronha and I started Gamma with a clear conviction: there had to be a better way to create and share ideas than fighting with PowerPoint templates for hours.
Today, I'm excited to share that Gamma has crossed $100M in ARR—profitably. We've also raised $68M in Series B funding at a $2.1B valuation led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Accel, Uncork Capital, South Park Commons, Script Capital, and others.
This round includes something we're particularly proud of: a secondary component that provides liquidity for our early employees, so they can share in the value they helped to create.
Built for the long term
This era of AI hype has seen companies raise massive rounds, burn through cash, and chase growth at any cost. We've intentionally written a different growth playbook.
This wasn't an overnight success story, and it wasn't inevitable.
By late 2022, we were at a moment of truth. We had about 60,000 users and a little over a year of runway left. Our dozen-person team had to make a bet: go all-in on AI, or watch Gamma slowly fade. We spent three months in a mad sprint: re-architecting our infrastructure, redesigning our interface, reimagining our entire approach.
Early employees stuck with us through that uncertainty. They believed in what we were building even when the path wasn't clear. We chose profitability over vanity metrics. Even today, we stay much leaner than what is typical—50 employees instead of 200—because we believe a focused team can move faster and build better.
That approach has paid off. We've been profitable for two years. We reached $100M ARR with only $23M in initial funding. And we've done it while maintaining a creative, quirky, and genuinely fun work culture.
The numbers tell part of the story: 70 million users worldwide have created over 400 million presentations, websites, and documents in Gamma. More than 1 million pieces of content are created in Gamma every day.
But what really matters is how people use it. Educators transforming how they teach. Founders landing their next round. Sales teams closing deals faster. Consultants winning new clients. Real people doing real work.
Why now
AI has fundamentally changed what's possible. People don't just want better tools; they want an intelligent partner that helps bring their ideas to life and scales with them.
That's what we're building. In 2025 alone, we launched AI image editing, shipped Gamma Agent (the world's first AI design partner), released our API for automation at scale, and expanded into new business lines with Gamma for Teams and Gamma Ultra.
We're seeing demand we need to meet, from businesses looking to replace legacy tools to teams who need to create compelling content without a design department.
This funding allows us to scale our product and team to meet that moment. While we'll always hire thoughtfully, we're ready to grow. We're focused on expanding our business capabilities, pushing the boundaries of what AI-powered creation can do, and building the platform that defines how the next generation of companies communicate.
