Identify Your Gifts Take the Spiritual Gifts Test at mtcarmeldemorest.com/serve. Pray, reflect, and consider how God has equipped you to serve others.
Explore the Opportunities Review the ministry descriptions in the catalog. Each entry gives a simple overview of what the ministry does and how you can serve.
Complete the Tear-Off Panel Use the tear-off panel in your Sunday bulletin to mark where you're willing to serve. You can check multiple ministries. Drop it in the offering plate by the end of the service.
Be Contacted by the Nominating Committee A member of the Nominating Committee will follow up to confirm your interest and recommend you for a role.
Be Voted In Recommendations are finalized in the August regular business meeting in accordance with our bylaws.
Show Up and Serve The church year begins in September. It’s not about getting on a list. It’s about faithfully showing up!

Worship & Technical
Audio/Visual Team
This team manages sound, slides, and livestream during worship services. Serve behind the scenes to ensure everything works smoothly.
Choir
The choir leads in musical worship, helping the congregation sing with joy and truth. All skill levels welcome, just bring a heart to praise.
Greeters
Greeters are the first faces people see. Welcome guests, give directions, and show the love of Christ with a smile and a handshake.
Ushers
Ushers assist in collecting the offering during worship services.
NextGen Ministries
Nursery
Care for infants and toddlers during services in a safe, welcoming environment. Show the love of Christ through patience, play, and prayer.
Children's Ministry Team
This team meets regularly to plan and support the week-to-week activities and special events for our children's ministry. Their work keeps the ministry organized, gospel-focused, and running smoothly.
Student Ministry Team
Invest in middle and high school students through teaching, mentoring, and events. Build real relationships and point them to lasting truth.
College/Career Ministry Team
Walk alongside college students and young adults as they navigate life and faith. Serve through teaching, discipleship, and community building.
Teaching & Discipleship
Sunday School Teachers & Assistants Lead or support a Sunday School class for children, students, or adults. Teach the Word, guide discussion, and care for the spiritual growth of others in a classroom setting.
Outreach & Evangelism
Benevolence Committee
Respond to needs in our church and community with compassion and wisdom. This team helps evaluate requests and extend practical assistance on behalf of the church.
Van Ministry
Provide transportation to and from church services for those who need a ride. A great way to serve families, seniors, and students with reliability and care.
Drive-Thru Christmas Story
Help bring Mt. Carmel's largest outreach event to life each December by serving on the planning and setup team. From building sets to installing lights, your hands-on help makes the gospel visible to our community.
Freedom Hill
Partner with this Christ-centered residential recovery program for women in Demorest, GA. Serve through mentorship, prayer, or support of their thrift store ministry.
Missions Committee
Help evaluate, support, and organize mission efforts locally and globally. This team stewards mission funds, promotes partnerships, and champions the spread of the gospel.
Outreach and Follow-Up Team
Connect with visitors and new prospects through cards, calls, or visits. Help ensure no one falls through the cracks by extending the welcome of Christ beyond Sunday.
Social Media Ministry
Extend the church's reach online by helping post content, events, and encouragement. This team keeps Mt. Carmel visible and inviting throughout the week.
Operations
Building and Grounds / Maintenance
Help care for the church's buildings and property through routine maintenance, repairs, and improvements. Serve with your hands to support every ministry that meets on campus.
History Committee
Preserve the story of Mt. Carmel by recording important events and collecting historical documents that reflect the life and work of the church.
Member Care
At Mt. Carmel, we believe in caring for one another through various ministries that meet specific needs within our church family.

Baptism Committee
Prepare candidates and the baptistry for baptism services. Assist with robes, towels, and any needs surrounding this public step of faith.

Bereavement Committee
Support grieving families by planning and providing meals. This ministry offers comfort through practical help during times of loss.

Decorating Committee
Help decorate the church for special events and seasons. Use creativity to make our shared spaces warm and welcoming.

Goodtimers (Senior Adult Ministry)
Encourage fellowship and connection among senior adults through regular gatherings, outings, and ministry opportunities.

GriefShare
Facilitate or assist in a Christ-centered support group for those grieving the death of a loved one. Offer comfort and hope through structured teaching and shared experience.

Health Ministry Team
Be prepared to assist during medical situations in worship services. Great for those with healthcare training or emergency response skills.

Hostess Committee
Serve meals and refreshments for church-wide events. This team helps create space for fellowship through food and hospitality.

Lord's Supper Committee
Prepare the elements and table for the observance of the Lord's Supper. Help make this sacred time ready and reverent.

Lead or assist in discipling men through fellowship, prayer, and service. Strengthen the brotherhood of faith and Christlike leadership.

S.A.L.T. Life
A ministry for younger women committed to discipleship, community, and mission. Participate in regular gatherings and shared service projects.

S.I.S. (Sisters in Service)
A ministry for older adult women who serve through fellowship, encouragement, and hands-on care. A place to build lasting friendships while serving together.

Shut-In Ministry
Reach out to homebound members through visits, calls, and cards. Make sure those who can't come to us still feel loved and included.

Women's Ministry
Serve as part of the women's ministry leadership team. Help coordinate events, studies, and initiatives for women of all ages.
